The 3-piece ball valve consists of three pieces: two end caps and a body. The end caps are welded, threaded, or flanged to connect to the pipe on either side. Thanks to this design, the valve can remain threaded into the pipe and the center portion can be removed by removing bolts, without having to move the entire valve from the application.
Applications
The 3-piece ball valve is mainly used in the petroleum transmission pipeline system, the corrosion-resistant pipeline system in chemical industry, the high temperature and high pressure pipeline system in metallurgical industry, and the flow control application in lustration pipeline system of pharmaceutical industry.

The 3-piece ball valve is composed of three pieces: two end caps and a body. Since the end caps are typically threaded or welded to the pipe, the main body section may be easily removed for cleaning or repair without removing the end caps.
The 3-piece ball valve is cost-saving in the long run because of its ability to be easily taken apart for cleaning or repairing. The main body section may be easily removed without affecting the connection, thus preventing a line shutdown.
